To my knowledge, no, it’s not possible. If you have a diamond certificate it may tell you if there was a chip at time of grading. Otherwise, your unfortunately out of luck. Sorry.
Hi Is it possible to tell if a chip on a diamond is recent or been there for a while? I am asking as I put my ring in for the stones to be resent in a new shank and upon return one of the stones has a chip. The jeweller said it was there before he started work and said he would send somewhere for him to prove it was not done recently. Kind regards
